Always wanted to try Scuba, but not sure it is right for you? Join us for a “Discover Scuba Diving Experience”. Cost of the Adventure is $40.00 per person.
Our certified Dive Leaders describe the equipment basics, and then lead participants through the Discover Scuba program.
Participants don the gear and experience the world of diving, 2-6 at a time, always under direct supervision. You will learn a few basic skills such as clearing a regulator and mask and how to inflate and deflate your BCD (buoyancy compensator device). Come join us to experience the underwater world.
We will provide masks, fins, snorkels and all scuba gear [and maybe a toy or two]. With a few tips, even novices will feel comfortable. Bring your own snorkel gear if you wish.
Prerequisites
Ages 10 and up & be comfortable in the water for Discover Scuba Diving Experience. Ages 8 and up and be comfortable in the water for PADI Bubble Makers.

This certification enables you to dive more advanced sites in more locations around the world–safely! PADI Advanced Open Water classes: Pre-Requisite – Open Water Diver Certified. Does not include transportation, meals, hotels, entrance fees or scuba gear except for air tanks and weights. The Homestead currently charges approximately $27 daily entrance fees.
Basic AOW
Subjects include Navigation, Deep Diving and you can choose between Night, Search and Recovery, Digital Photography, Altitude and Peak Buoyancy. Class includes instruction, the Adventures in Diving manual along with knowledge reviews plus 5 Adventure dives at the Homestead crater over 2 days. When completed your will receive your PADI Advanced Open Water Card. Additional fees apply for Open Water Dives.

Padi Rescue and EFR Course
The best buddy you can have is one who can manage his or her own self, prevent emergencies and solve problems. The PADI tescue diver course is a pivotal step in expanding your diving knowledge and experience. You will learn to look beyond yourself and consider the well being of other divers. Rescue training is serious and challenging and promises to build your confidence. Class includes instruction, confined and open water dives. Classes include Instruction and knowledge reviews of the materials as well as the dives needed for each specialty. If you have completed an adventure dive previously, it may be counted as one of the open water dives required. The dives can be completed at the Homestead Crater or while traveling on one of our escorted dive vacations. Additional fees apply for the Open Water dives.
Master Diver
This is the highest non-professional ranking there is in Scuba Diving. You must be an Advanced Open Water Diver and complete 5 specialties and a Rescue Diver course along with 50 documented dives in your log book to qualify. Visit with one of our dive professionals to custom design your Master Diver Program. An application fee for this rating applies and is paid directly to PADI.

This is PADI’s first level of leadership training. Your personal diving skills will be sharpened to near perfection while you obtain a professional understanding of dive theory, organization and supervision of student divers. It is a serious course designed for the serious diver. The course is divided into 4 sections:
Dive Theory
The first section is accomplished online with PADI’s eLearning Dive Theory online. There are 6 chapters that cover all aspects of dive theory including diving physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory, supervision of diving activities and dive planning.
Classroom
Covers all aspects of the program including Risk Management, PADI standards, Dive Master conducted programs, the Business of diving, review of the online Dive Theory, your diving career and reviewing your knowledge reviews. These sessions will be scheduled with you and your instructor.
Confined Water
This portion of the course will evaluate your watermanships skills, stamina, problem solving and develop your scuba skills to a Professional demonstration quality level. It is a lot of fun and guaranteed to challenge you.
Practical Application
This part of the course allows you to put into practice the knowledge and skills you will use as a PADI dive master. You will be actively helping and working with real student divers in confined water and open water. By working with real student divers you will gain even more knowledge and experience as you enter the professional ranks.
PADI rescue diver or equivalent rating

40 logged dives (Note proof of 60 logged dives is required for certification)
Submit to the instructor medical clearance for diving signed by a physician, attesting to your fitness to dive. This clearance must be current within the last 12 months.
Proof of CPR/1st aid within the last 24 months
PADI Assistant Instructor Course
Congratulations on your decision to become a PADI Assistant Instructor. This course will likely be one of the most challenging diving programs you’ve taken and at the same time, it will be one of the most rewarding. You will attend an orientation session where we will review the course requirements and learn about how we can help you achieve your professional diving goals. You and your instructor will set out a specific schedule of events for your course. Prior to your first scheduled class session, you will complete the nine Online Independent Study sections and the Dive Theory. Then you will participate in training including: lectures/confined water skill circuit evaluation, classroom/confined water teaching presentations and open water skills evaluation/rescue assessment.

Not included is transportation, meals, hotels, entrance fees or scuba gear except for tanks and weights. As with all professions there are annual dues and processing fees plus liability insurance. There are discounts for online and automatic renewals.
To enroll in the AI course you must:
Have dive leader certification
PADI Dive master or leadership-level certification with a recognized recreational diver training organization and be either: an instructor member in good standing, or; a diver with proof of certification in diver supervision and management including proof of rescue diving certification; 60 logged dives; documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation.
Be at least 18 years of age. Provide proof of medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months. The physician signing the form may not be the applicant.
Have been a certified diver for at least six months and have completed and logged at least 60 open water scuba dives
(as documented in your log book) and have documentation of experience in deep, night and navigation diving.
Submit proof of EFR Primary and Secondary Care course completion (or qualifying training) within the past 24 months.
Submit documentation of any equivalent certification for entry-level
advanced, rescue and leadership-level training if the certification was issued by another recreational diver training organization.
Successfully complete the PADI Dive master course diver rescue skills assessment, if not a PADI Dive master.

Bring your equipment in the week after your trip and we will disinfect the BCD bladder, clean the inflator valve, as well as test and adjust your regulator. Just bring in your equipment within six months of your last annual service and enjoy the benefits of our Safety Inspection Program.
